Christine Miller's artistic inspiration was initiated at an early age, by devising short stories for her family and intricate images to accompany them. Today the same youthful exuberance drives her work through simplistic line, shape and color. After graduating from Columbus College of Art Design in 2009 she continued to experiment with sketching, painting and paper collage. As a children's book illustrator and fine artist she uses visual art as a language to tell a tale, often with a necessary message. In the place of words, surreal imagery and creatures communicate life, values and culture. She juxtaposes texture and smooth linework as well as ordinary with odd themes. Her work varies, sometimes with a sense of cuteness and sometimes with a sense of strangeness, but always with a unique simplicity that people of any age can relate to.
